Abrasive Wheels Awareness
This course is designed for delegates who are required to operate a range of grinding/cutting equipment in the workplace and covers the theory and safe fitting of the wheel to the equipment.

Course Aim
To provide you with a thorough understanding of the relevant operational and safety requirements applicable to abrasive wheel users, understanding the legal requirements under the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations (PUWER), the basics of blade selection and the correct procedure for changing a range of wheels/discs.
Course Contents
All legal requirements involved with using this equipment, Machine selection and maintenance skills, How to selection and maintain blades, How to inspect blades, Pre use check of the equipment, safe operating procedures, PPE requirements, Starting procedure
Certification
Delegates are required to demonstrate their competence by passing three seperate tests. The tests consist of a pre use check, associated knowledge test and a practical test of operating skills. Successful delegates will be awarded their Certificate of Training which is valid for a period of 3 years

Associated Knowledge Test (5 open and 20 multiple choice questions), Pre Use Test and Practical Test of Basic Operating Skills

Length of Certification: 3 Years
A Certificate of Training and ID card will be awarded to successful delegates, the course is accredited by NPORS.
